I stopped watching anime because I got tired of the seeming invincibility of every character, even the relatively normal ones. I don't care how visually stunning the fight scene is, when there is no emotional connection to the mortality of the character I'm not interested. Fight scenes that are more normal and the characters are normally mortal are far more interesting. When I worry about whether or not they could die, then I'm fascinated.
now Full Metal Alchemist had quite the interresting story though its true that nearly all action related anime's are all flashy and lack some originality
thats why i stick to reading manga's
